Perception Software' Engineering Decision Support System (EDSS) is a comprehensive design-centric application that addresses the needs of engineering design teams, quality teams, product marketing teams, and customer support teams in the areas of:

EDSS is a a web enabled technology that allows companies to characterize internal IP (engineering assets) in a structured way and use that structure as the framework to enable access to all related forms of unstructured IP within the organization, regardless of type or host system. The resulting solution provides personalities for each major design domain (mechanical, electronic, system, etc.), allowing the solution to scale across a company's design centers. Each domain personality captures the terminology, use cases, data model, and critical relationships for that domain such that the characterization and use of the structured and unstructured content is direclty relevant to the users. Combined with a rich engineering community application module, an architecture design and analysis module, and an engineering resource allocation and management module, EDSS is architected to address the needs of various engineering roles including management, architecture, design, implementation, verification, test, and manufacturing. The use of familiar browser based web technologies, standard CAD/EDA tool and database integrations, as well as industry supported enterprise integration modules to commonly used engineering and enterprise systems ensure that EDSS is quickly adopted within any engineering organization.
